__earplugs (and EarPlanes, for the flight over the water; I think you can get them at Freddie’s, and I got mine at the airport a couple years ago)

__ spare eyeglasses and/or contact lenses and supplies

__ cosmetics

__ jewelry (recommend you bring only what you wear on the plane)

__ toiletry kit

__ medications (including pain reliever, anti-heartburn and anti-diarrhea medications) Prescription meds require a copy of your current prescription too

__eye drops

__ book light

__ travel first-aid kit

__ paperback/magazine

__ washcloths (not always available) (should be available at “our” house)

__pillow case (ditto – can always be used as a laundry bag) (should be available at “our” house)

__ tissues and/or toilet paper

__ wet wipes

__ laundry detergent (should buy this when we get to “our” house)

Documents and Money

__ passport

__ International Drivers Permit (IDP)

__ two credit cards

__ ATM card

__ medical and auto insurance cards

__ airline tickets

__ car rental and hotel reservation confirmations

__ copies of EVERYTHING! (carry them in different locations)

__ approximately 300-500 euro exchanged prior to departure (and foreign currency appropriate to any airport you’re landing at)

__ medium to large fold-up nylon “extra” bag with handles

__ Ziploc bags (for holding everything) (surely we can get these in Ireland?)

Flexibility and versatility are key. Limit the colors of your basic pieces to one or two and let your accessories provide the color and flair.

__ one pair comfortable walking shoes
